Hello, I’m Sarah, the founder of Primary Path Education and an experienced educator with over a decade of teaching expertise.
Since qualifying as teacher in 2013, giving the children the best education possible has been my main aim and for ten years, I taught mixed ability classes in several North East schools. The electricity in a classroom when children are fully engaged and curious to find out more is what solidified my love of teaching. During those 10 years, I specialised in Key Stage 2 (years 3-6) and became head of English. That enabled me to experience writing, implementing and evaluating a whole primary English curriculum from scratch - an experience which I was lucky enough to repeat in two schools. Alongside this, I was also trained in two phonics schemes (Sounds Write and Read, Write Inc), giving me experience of teaching reading and writing from the very beginning of a child's educational journey.
In 2023, I began Primary Path Education as a way to support families who were seeking expert guidance in the 11+ exams (specifically, creative writing). From there, I fell in love with being able to offer children 1:1, personalised lessons which led to rapid and impressive progress. My business continued to blossom into new areas and I began teaching ESL/EAL students from all around the world. I worked with children and adults from China, Japan, Italy, The Ukraine, Spain, France, Dubai and Jerusalem to improve and refine their English skills.
Over the last year, I have prepared over 20 children for grammar school entrance exams (including the 7+, 8+, and 11+) with a focus on reading comprehension, creative writing, verbal reasoning, maths, and non-verbal reasoning. I have successfully tutored many students to achieve Greater Depth in the KS2, Year 6 SATs across all subjects and helped rebuild confidence for those who have experienced setbacks or knocks to their confidence.
I absolutely love my job and it is a privilege to become part of so many families. I am not an automated response or a pre-recorded video lesson, I am your family's tutor at the end of a phone if you need me and, together, we will share the highs (and inevitable lows) of your child's educational journey.

Finding the right tutor is so important and I pride myself on ensuring every parent has the chance to speak to me and see how I work before we start lessons.

Getting in touch - either send me a message, an email or a Whatsapp detailing what you are looking for (don't forget to add in some information about your child/children too)

Zoom meeting - we will schedule in a time for a Zoom meeting so that we can discuss everything fully. This is an opportunity for both parents and children to ask any questions!

You will receive your welcome pack, terms and conditions and a log in for TutorBird. TutorBird is a platform where you can keep track of all of your lessons, upload homework and see feedback from each session.

I am always at the end of the phone. If you have any questions or concerns, my business Whatsapp is available every weekday and I aim to get back to everyone within a few hours. Remember, we are on this journey together and it's perfectly normal to have some queries from time to time.
